Pressure Gauge Movement OEM Inquiry Checklist

A clear technical inquiry helps a pressure gauge movement supplier evaluate compatibility and prepare a useful quotation. Use the checklist below when sourcing a standard or custom movement.

1. Provide a drawing or reference sample

Include the gauge size, movement envelope, mounting hole positions, plate spacing and linkage connection. Mark dimensions and tolerances that are critical to assembly. A model name alone may not identify every design detail.

2. Confirm the pointer shaft and rotation

Specify shaft diameter, exposed length, pointer fitting and required rotation direction. State the pointer travel needed in the assembled gauge and describe the connection to the sensing element.

3. Define gearing and performance requirements

Provide the required transmission ratio, gear details where available, and spring requirements. State the target accuracy of the complete instrument and the inspection method. Movement selection should be validated in the assembled gauge.

4. Describe materials and operating conditions

Identify the required plate, gear and shaft materials. Describe temperature, humidity, vibration and the conditions inside the gauge case. Discuss material suitability for the actual application rather than assuming one material fits every design.

5. Agree on samples and acceptance checks

Confirm sample quantity, drawing revision, inspection criteria and packaging before production. Evaluate fit, pointer travel and operation in your own gauge assembly before approving a production order.
